Contracts
One of the benefits of working with Robin to prepare or revise your contract is that she has spent much of her time arguing about the wording or lack of it in many contracts addressing a wide variety of matters. So, if you’ve prepared your own contract and need her review, or you’d like her to start with a blank page, or someone has sent you a contract, please contact Robin before you finalize the agreement.

Many people think they don’t need a lawyer’s assistance and they draft their own contracts. Some of those agreements are better than others and some are woefully inadequate. In Robin’s experience, agreements that haven’t been prepared or reviewed by a lawyer always need a bit of tweaking and sometimes they require major revisions.

It’s much easier to negotiate a written agreement before a project begins, or at the onset of a relationship, when everyone is on the same page. When an agreement is in writing, and a dispute arises, all signatories (and their attorneys if necessary) can review the provisions and may be able to move forward based on its plain language. Even if they can’t agree, or if the contract doesn’t address a particular situation because no one thought about that possibility in advance, a writing provides a mediator or fact-finder with a basis to begin the interpretation process.
